Additional Information & Application Method
Timing is crucial when applying for the Excellence Scholarship. Be sure to submit your application by the following deadlines:
- Summer Semester: Applications must be submitted by 30th March, 2025
- Winter Semester: Applications are due by 30th September, 2025
Applications received after these deadlines will not be considered, so it's important to plan ahead.
Required Documents for the Application
To apply for the Excellence Scholarship, you will need to gather and submit several documents through the Mobility Online Application portal. Here is a checklist of the required documents:

- Curriculum Vitae (CV): A CV detailing your academic achievements and extracurricular activities, limited to two pages.
- Certificate of Enrollment: This certificate can be obtained from the myHAW portal.
- Current Transcript: The transcript must include your average grade and the number of credit points you have earned. For students in the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science (except for those in Automotive Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering), the International Office will request this information after the application deadline.
- Residency Permit or ID: Non-EU students must provide a copy of their residency permit, while EU students can submit a copy of their passport or ID card.
- Bank Account Information: A form detailing your bank account for scholarship disbursement.
- Financial Circumstances Form: Information regarding your financial situation.
- Letters of Recommendation: If you are applying for the first time, you need two letters of recommendation from instructors in your degree course. These letters should be sent directly by your professors to the International Office’s email (io_scholarships@haw-hamburg.de).
