Are you a student from Bangladesh, Ghana, Nigeria, or Turkey looking to pursue a Master’s degree in the UK? The University of Exeter, in partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, is offering five £10,000 scholarships for eligible one-year postgraduate taught (Masters) programs starting in September 2025. The University of Exeter - GREAT Scholarships 2025 provides significant financial support, including:
- Scholarship Value: £10,000 towards tuition fees for eligible one-year (12-month) full-time postgraduate taught (Masters) programmes.
- Duration: The scholarship is awarded for one academic year.
This financial assistance significantly reduces the cost of studying in the UK, enabling talented students from Bangladesh, Ghana, Nigeria, and Turkey to access high-quality education.
Eligible Nationalities
The GREAT Scholarships programme is a collaboration between the British Council and selected UK universities, aimed at supporting international postgraduate students from 18 countries. At the University of Exeter, five scholarships worth £10,000 each are available for students from:
- Bangladesh
- Ghana
- Nigeria
- Turkey
These scholarships are designed to support international students in pursuing postgraduate education at a world-renowned UK university, helping them become ambassadors for UK Higher Education.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the GREAT Scholarships 2025 at the University of Exeter, applicants must:
- Be a citizen and resident of Bangladesh, Ghana, Nigeria, or Turkey, and therefore be classed as an International student for fee purposes.
- Hold an undergraduate degree that qualifies for entry to a postgraduate taught programme at the University of Exeter.
- Be motivated and academically capable of pursuing a UK postgraduate taught course.
- Be active in the field of their chosen area of study, either through work experience or a proven interest in the subject area.
- Meet the English language requirements and other academic criteria for the selected postgraduate programme.
- Be willing to engage in the UK Higher Education experience, including attending lectures, participating in extracurricular activities, and acting as an ambassador for UK Higher Education.
- Demonstrate potential for future contribution to capacity-building and socio-economic advancement in their home country.
- Maintain contact with the British Council and promote the GREAT Scholarships programme by sharing their experiences with future applicants.
Ineligible Programmes
The following programmes are NOT eligible for the GREAT Scholarships 2025 at the University of Exeter:
- The Exeter MBA
- MRes Management (Pathway to PhD)
- MRes Economics (Pathway to PhD)
- MSc Island Biodiversity and Conservation
- Clinical Psychology programmes delivered by Clinical Education, Development and Research (CEDAR)
- MA International Film Business
- Law programmes delivered by the University of Law
- Postgraduate Certificates and Diplomas
- Degree Apprenticeships
- Fully online or distance learning programmes
